A Legendary Island Paradise Reborn
Discover the All-New Hawks Cay Resort – A casually elegant getaway immersed in water-based activities.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the energy of a vibrant team dedicated to service. A wow-factor hits you in the bright new lobby with lazy wicker fans creating a Hemingway feel. A spectacular view looks straight through to a gorgeous new zero-edge pool and the ocean beyond.
The changes that have taken place in the $35 million transition from 70’s modern to a premier resort experience with a warm and inviting West Indies look and feel are truly first class. New management and a whole new way of looking at resort service have turned Hawks Cay into a casually elegant getaway totally focused on water-based activities. And that, happily, continues to include Offshore Sailing School, with our fleet now berthed at Hawks Cay’s main marina!
Located on Duck Key, just 60 miles north of Key West and 90 miles south of Miami in the Florida Keys, Hawks Cay Resort is a 40-acre island resort with a delightful Caribbean flair. Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, Hawks Cay, now a member of Preferred Hotels, has redefined ‘barefoot luxury’ in a uniquely meaningful and very beautiful way.
When you’re not sailing during normal course hours, you’ll find a panorama of watersports and shoreside fun. There are world-class fishing charters, sunset cruises and boating excursions on an assortment of boats from glass bottom pontoons to luxury sport-fishing vessels. Include Offshore Sailing School in those sunset cruises! Dive Duck Key offers lessons, reef trips and SNUBA™ (a new way to snorkel under water).
The renowned Dolphin Connection Program is in full swing with participants enjoying hands-on interaction with smiling dolphins, one of which is 32 years old! You can rent boats, kayaks and jet skis, wakeboards and go to a water-ski school. Eco tours are also available.
Dining options are plentiful and varied. With five distinct restaurants and menus featuring delicious cuisine and refreshing tastes, its easy to see why Hawks Cay is one of the top dining destinations in the Florida Keys. Enjoy a fabulous breakfast buffet in the Terrace, overlooking the fabulous main pool and the Atlantic Ocean. Tom’s Harbor House is Hawks Cay’s casual fish shack, offering local favorites such as grouper, hog fish and mahi mahi (just to name a few), as well as appetizers, salads and entrees. Alma’s Chef, Johnny Alamilla, has created an extraordinary gastronomic experience with vibrant Nuevo Latino cuisine, and chic, intimate décor. And don’t forget the Beach Grill where you can curl your toes in the sand while sampling fresh fish served directly off the open-fire grill, or a delicious steak. The Beach Grill Bar also offers one of the most spectacular views of the property, looking back at the main swimming pool and saltwater lagoon on one side, with an endless view of the Atlantic Ocean on the other.
The Indies Club is still there – popular as ever, and The Indies Grill is an outpost for classic American cuisine for the whole family, served with a smile at the Indies Family Pool and the Kids Pool.
The 7,000 square-foot Calm Waters Spa
at Hawks Cay provides an alluring menu of island-inspired services
and treatments, as well as a salon and fitness center.
